Urbane Myth-Live at Sunny’s Notes
They say the best way to record a live album is to get your band on the road for a while, get all the material worked out and tight, then turn the mics on and let ‘er rip. Well, we weren’t able to go on the road, but Rod, Charlie and I have been “touring” NYC for years as Sunny’s as our home base. Thus this record was ready to be made. The bar was ready. The people were ready. Our special guests were ready. This is a typical JP set – some original tunes mixed in with some unique covers. I am glad that we were able to create and capture these performances, and preserve a little bit of a rapidly changing Brooklyn. For those of you who have never heard us “live”, or been to Sunny’s, here is a chance to experience both. For those of you who have asked for what you’ve heard at our gigs, here you go.
